Kremlin: the Kiev regime is not able to solve existing problems at the negotiating table

The Kiev regime is incapable of solving existing problems at the negotiating table. So the press secretary of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Peskov, commented to journalists on Zelensky’s call to grant Ukraine membership in NATO.

“We, with regret, state that such statements speak of the unpreparedness, unwillingness, inability of the Kyiv regime to solve the existing problems at the negotiating table. Russia will seek to fulfill its tasks, Russia will seek to ensure its interests and its security,” Peskov said.

According to him, Russia’s policy excludes the expansion of NATO and its approach to the borders. Peskov stressed that Ukraine’s desire to join NATO is one of the main irritants for many years.

“Unfortunately, Washington both orders and pays for music in NATO. Europe and European states are only obedient instruments in this orchestra,” Peskov concluded.

May 31, 2023 Macron declaredthat the West will reconsider its support for Ukraine if the counter-offensive fails. According to him, if the West wants long-term peace, it must give Ukraine the means to prevent any aggression and security guarantees. A successful Ukrainian counter-offensive could allow a dialogue about peace, Macron said.

1 June NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg informedthat the alliance has not made decisions on providing security guarantees for Ukraine and is still working out the details. Stoltenberg stressed that NATO is focused on Kyiv’s victory in the conflict and will continue to send military assistance.
