Krasnoyarsk artist fined for tumblers with prison tattoos

This exhibit attracted the attention of employees of the Center for Combating Extremism of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Krasnoyarsk Territory. On September 29, they conducted an administrative check and drew up a report against the artist. The court found a violation of displaying extremist symbols and issued a fine. The artist, judging by the case materials, admitted guilt and did not contest the charges.
Vasily Slonov’s works are exhibited in Russia, in particular at the Moscow Gogol Center, and some have been sold to private collectors in Moscow and Paris.
