Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov said that the Prosecutor General’s Office receives many reports of violations against military personnel participating in hostilities in Ukraine. Often, according to him, lately there have been reports of delays in payments after injuries received and in connection with the conferment of state awards.
“Unfortunately, we are receiving signals about violations of the rights of SVO participants, their family members and close relatives. There are a lot of these signals,” said Igor Krasnov in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin (a fragment published in his Telegram channel).
The Prosecutor General also spoke about complaints about deficiencies in uniforms and the lack of monthly payments for participation in hostilities. At the same time, Igor Krasnov assured that prosecutors “promptly and firmly” respond to such information.
In January, Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov asked comment on complaints from SBO participants about delays in payments. He said isolated examples of delays in payments to the military were inevitable due to the scale of the fighting. At the same time, according to him, the Ministry of Defense has done a “gigantic job”, “the system has been largely established.”
