Kostroma achievements: young badminton players from Sharya returned from the All-Russian tournament with medals

The Kostroma Regional Committee for Physical Education and Sports reports on the successful performance of a team of junior athletes from the Sharya Olympic Reserve School at the All-Russian Badminton Tournament. The badminton tournament took place from October 12 to 15 in Veliky Novgorod and brought together teams of badminton players from many cities in Russia and Belarus. At such a representative competition, Kostroma badminton players showed their best side – they performed excellently in the age category up to 13 years in men’s singles and doubles. Denis and Ivan Shevelev entered the first category, and two pairs entered the second category: Denis Shevelev – Maxim Bogomolov and Ivan Shevelev – Yaroslav Tarasov.
As a result of intense competition with teams from the Moscow and Leningrad regions, Sharya athletes took first place. Denis Shevelev took gold in men’s singles and men’s doubles. In the same categories, Ivan Shevelev received silver and bronze in the mixed doubles, and Maxim Bogomolov and Yaroslav Tarasov took first place in the men’s doubles. In addition, the badminton player from the Sharya team, Ulyana Krutikova, was among the 10 strongest players under the age of 15 years.
