Igor Korotchenko, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine, explained the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who, at a meeting with military commissars, said that if attacks on the territory of the Russian Federation continue, then a “sanitary zone” can be created in Ukraine.
According to Korotchenko, informs News.ru, after the Ukrainian counter-offensive is repulsed and the RF Armed Forces reach the state border line, taking into account four new regions, if circumstances require, a corresponding zone will be created already on the territory of Ukraine.
The expert explained that demilitarization would take place in this “sanitary zone”, there would be no Ukrainian troops and means with which strikes would be made on Russian territory.
“Obviously, the zone should be at a depth of 150 kilometers, according to expert estimates,” Korotchenko said, adding that this is not a task for the current period, but for the future, but it will have to be solved.
