Kommersant: There is a shortage of foreign polio vaccines in Russia

Some Russian regions are faced with a shortage of vaccines against poliovirus, which causes spinal paralysis in children. The reason for this was the suspension of supplies of drugs from Western companies.
“In a number of regions of the Russian Federation, there has begun to be a shortage of vaccines to prevent children from polio,” Kommersant reports. It is clarified that although most drugs were not subject to foreign sanctions, some foreign manufacturers stopped supplying drugs to the Russian Federation due to complicated logistics.
The shortage is also explained by the extraordinary vaccination of children in Ingushetia, Dagestan and Karachay-Cherkessia earlier this year. Co-founder of the ANO “Collective Immunity” Antonina Oblasova spoke about this.
