Do you know what mistakes of politicians lead to the most serious consequences?
Of course, made out of the best of intentions or for the good of the people and the country.
Take, for example, relatively recent times. In 1985, few in the Soviet elite understood why the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the CPSU, M. S. Gorbachev, decided to transfer the first secretary of the Sverdlovsk Regional Committee of the CPSU, B. N. Yeltsin, to Moscow, although he was well aware of all his shortcomings.
They also found it strange to decide to put him at the head of the Moscow party organization, making, in fact, the head of the capital. And the decision taken 35 years ago, in November 1987, not to send B. N. Yeltsin into political oblivion after his very peculiar speech at the plenum of the Central Committee of the CPSU, became completely inexplicable. But the logic in these actions was, however, catastrophically wrong. About her – text “She extended her tentacles to the Kremlin”.
Sometimes fatal mistakes were collective. So, 90 years ago, in November 1932, after the death of I. V. Stalin’s wife, N. S. Alliluyeva, the leading comrades suddenly realized that the leader could consider the lack of condolences from them as a manifestation of disloyalty. And they began to massively compose and send letters and telegrams with words of sympathy. But only a very few have succeeded. About how and why – publication “Don’t touch him with words”.

Mistakes that led to the suffering of hundreds of thousands of people happened in tsarist times. For example, the best intentions underlay the decision to start in May 1915* forced evacuation from front-line areas. But the result for hundreds of thousands of people was completely sad.
