Klara Novikova revealed the mystery of her disappearance

Klara Novikova has hardly appeared in public lately. They say that the star began to lead an almost reclusive lifestyle. The crowd is perplexed: where has Clara, who was always used to being the center of attention, disappeared? MK correspondents found the star and asked her what caused her disappearance.

“It’s some envious people who are spreading rumors that I’m missing.” And the Internet is also unbridled, they write whatever they want there, sparing no one. I just don’t appear in the space where people are used to seeing me. There are currently no comedy programs. So I live my life. I don’t give any interviews to anyone. But I perform my plays, give solo concerts, and go on tour. And I always play in crowded halls…

There’s not much that makes me happy today. More worrying than happy. But this is the life I have to live. I have children and grandchildren. I’m meeting friends.

Tomorrow I have an apartment. In our office, where we were with Mikhail Mikhailovich Zhvanetsky, we opened his museum. And now they hold apartments there, meetings with actors and musicians. Not many people can fit there, so the format is completely different. For some reason, no one is interested in this, but everyone is interested in where Clara disappeared to!

—Who are you talking to now, Klara Borisovna?

— With Regina Dubovitskaya, of course. We called her back two days ago. We’ve been together for so many years! Fewer and fewer new people appear in my circle as friends.

— Last year you said that you got yourself a young groom!

– (Laughs). Some spiteful aunt is broadcasting, who traces what someone found, but she fails. Please, I won’t mind if they take it away from me.

– What kind of groom do you need?

– I do not need anybody. I feel so good in my new girlhood!

– The groom also needs attention…

– Not “too” – but attention is needed. But I don’t need it. I’m sitting here now, writing about my childhood in Kiev, when my dad and mom were alive. Everything is forgotten, dulled over time. I’m trying to recall some memories – but it’s such a job! Now there is no one around. I only have a brother left who has lived in America for more than thirty years.

My husband was a journalist, a very good one. At some point he decided to write a book about me, on my behalf. We had a very serious conversation, because when I read some chapters, I was shocked. I tell him: “Yurka, what is this? It’s not me saying that! I don’t talk like that. Let me be tongue-tied and stupid, but let me speak at least to some extent!” He understood, and we made a good book.

A few years ago I was in Jurmala and started writing there. I love Jurmala, its atmosphere… And I had such a good time writing there. I didn’t want to go anywhere: neither to the sea, nor to the sun… Just sit and write. I put aside the chapters I wrote then. Several years have passed, I’m no longer in Jurmala, but I got those chapters and maybe this winter I’ll sit at home and write a book.

— Are your grandchildren proud of you?

– They are already adults. And we have a very good relationship. None of them call me grandma.

Recently, at a concert in Vladimir, a young woman came and wrote a postcard with the words: “Hello, grandma. I’m in the hall.” I think: “Who? Where? Where do I get extra granddaughters from?” It turned out that this was my cousin’s granddaughter. She lives there. I told her: “Listen, no one calls me grandma.” She says: “Well, sorry, I didn’t know.” This is not because I am against… A wonderful, warm word “grandmother”. But it so happened in our family that I am Clara for Anechka, Levushka, and Andryusha… Clara, who will always help, whom you can turn to for any reason. I love them very much.

—As far as I understand, your grandchildren did not follow in your footsteps?

– No. Although something stirred in Anya. She entered theater college, where she would like to study stage design at this stage. No one is following directly in my footsteps. More and more with a philological bias. Their family is so philological: both a daughter and a son-in-law… But everyone chooses their own path. There were no actors in my family. I was the only one out.

— It’s your birthday soon. How are you planning to celebrate?

— Most likely, there will be a tour. I always love to be on stage on my birthday. And then we gather with those who are nearby and celebrate. This year is not a round date, so there will be no magnificent celebrations. Let God live…
