In the Sverdlovsk region, a group of tourists disappeared while rafting down the Vizhay River, located approximately 70 km from the Dyatlov Pass. The head of the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Sverdlovsk Region, Valery Gorelykh, told Kommersant that information about their disappearance was received by the Ivdel police on October 30 at 19:40. Now police and rescuers are looking for tourists.

A group of five people went rafting on the morning of October 26th. They were supposed to raft from the village of Takhta to the village of Vizhay until October 30. The day before, at 10:00 am, they were supposed to be met by the organizer of the transportation of tourists, but the tourists did not show up at the appointed time. Among the missing were the director of a commercial enterprise and four logisticians from the city of Berezovsky.

Now security forces are considering various causes of the incident. According to one version, the group’s delay is due to the shallowing of the Vizhay River and a sharp cooling in the air. Perhaps difficulties arose due to crossing certain sections of the river on foot.

The head of the Ivdel city district, Vladimir Mikhel, told the portal E1.ru, that today at about 9:45 (7:45 Moscow time) four rescuers went in search of tourists in a KAMAZ all-terrain vehicle, onto which they loaded a boat with a motor. They were supposed to get in touch around 16:00.
