“I don’t want to make excuses,” said Klara Borisovna

Klara Novikova gave a solo concert in Moscow. This time the comedian performed in a small hall: at one time Mikhail Zhvanetsky’s office was located there. The intimate setting had a magical effect on the comedian: it seems that she has never been so frank.

Clara talked a lot about her relationship with Zhvanetsky and other representatives of the stronger sex. In the midst of the performance, the star spoke about her first husband. As it turned out, she married him not out of love, but so that her Jewish parents would not be ashamed of their daughter.

“Novikov’s last name is not my last name,” said the artist. – This is the last name of my first husband. He’s been gone for a long time. And I still bear his last name. At that time I was still working at the Kirovograd Philharmonic. A young man, Vitya Novikov, who was a drummer, looked after me. And the city of Lviv was on the tour schedule. The hotel is crazy. We are coming with a group of artists. And when you travel with a group and are on tour for three months, then you have a young man who will either bring you a suitcase or offer to have lunch together. And then Vitya says: “Come on, I’ll come and have tea with you in the evening.” That day we arrived from the concert, I go up to my room, he brings a suitcase. And now it’s already eleven o’clock in the evening, and Vitya doesn’t leave… At that moment there is a knock on the door, the maid comes in and says: “We only have guests until 11.” Then the man must leave the room.”

“When the maid left, Vitya came again,” Novikova continued. “And the maid promised to keep an eye on us.” And now it’s already about 7 am, there’s a knock on the door. And Novikov is in my room. I tell him: “Quickly to the balcony. Now you will be discovered and we will be evicted from the hotel altogether.” So you understand: it’s February outside, the temperature is somewhere around minus 25. I threw a sheet over him and onto the balcony.

Fortunately for Klara, it was not the maid who knocked on the door with a check, but her cousin, who served in Lvov.

“He saw a poster with my name and came to visit me,” the star continued. – He has a cake and tangerines in a string bag. And Novikov was already frozen there. I say to my brother: “Do you know that I got married?” He was surprised: “How? Dad didn’t say anything! Where is your husband? “On the balcony,” I answer, opening the door. Novikov enters simply as a “stony guest.” Completely frozen. Mishka extends his hand to him. At this time the door to my room opens, the maid, the hotel director and the attendant enter. And then the maid shouts: “What did I say? This one in the sheet hasn’t had time to get dressed yet, but the other one has already arrived.”

The scandal, according to Novikova, was significant. The comedian asked her brother not to tell his father about the emergency that happened at the hotel.

“My Jewish parents could not stand this shame,” Novikova sighed. – So I had to marry this Vitya Novikov and bring him to my dad to meet him. I got married so that my dad wouldn’t be ashamed that I spend the night with some guy from Dnepropetrovsk.

The artist also said that due to the fighting, she had not been to Ukraine for a long time. Although she still has many friends there.

“I’m friends with them to this day,” the star explained. – Although it is sometimes difficult. I’m not going anywhere, because everything is mine here. I’ve lived here for many years. Why should I make excuses? I do not want to do this”.

Novikova concluded her performance with a monologue from Aunt Sonya, who dreams that all the weapons in the world will be buried. She also urged women not to forget about their men.

“Men must be loved: they must be kissed on the forehead, on the lips, on the tummy, on the knees,” the comedian is sure. “Even the fact that I jumped over, you can also not be shy to kiss.” There is no need to pretend to be anything: we are adults!
