Kiriyenko compared today’s feats of young guys with the feats of their grandfathers and great-grandfathers

Sergei Kiriyenko, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, compared today’s feats of young people with the feats of their grandfathers and great-grandfathers. Mr. Kiriyenko made such a comparison during his speech at the Patriot-2022 national award.

“Today, the exploits are comparable to the exploits of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers … This year is 80 years since very young guys in Krasnodon, Young Guard, performed their heroic deed,” said the first deputy head of the presidential administration (quoted by RIA Novosti). After 80 years, their peers are performing feats of no lesser scale, Sergei Kiriyenko said.

“This is a war for what our children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren will believe in. For the extent to which the traditions, beliefs and faith of their fathers and grandfathers are preserved in their hearts and souls,” said Mr. Kiriyenko.

National premium “Patriot-2022” is held within the framework of the All-Russian Patriotic Forum and is a public and state initiative. The objective of the award is to identify the best practices and recognize the merits of citizens and organizations for their contribution to civic-patriotic education.
