King Charles III, who has cancer, thanked everyone who was concerned about his health in a special statement.

For the first time, King Charles III of Great Britain broke his silence about his cancer diagnosis. Buckingham Palace released his statement.

The monarch wrote that he would like to express his most heartfelt gratitude for the many words of support and good wishes that he received in recent days. “Anyone affected by cancer knows that such kind thoughts are the greatest comfort and encouragement. It is equally heartening to hear that publicizing my diagnosis has helped to improve public understanding and shine a light on the work of all those organizations that support cancer patients and their families in the UK and around the world. My lifelong admiration for their tireless care and dedication has been enhanced by personal experience,” the king said.

At the same time, Buckingham Palace denied previously published information about the discovery of prostate cancer in Charles III and noted that doctors had declared the presence of a “form of cancer.”

The monarch is expected to hold several private meetings in London next week. He will be in the UK capital for the day and will combine meetings with a visit to the doctor.
