Kindness does not go on vacation

This is the name of the All-Russian competition of grants, the launch of which was announced by the Russian Children and Youth Center. Volunteer groups of educational organizations, which include schoolchildren and students aged 8 to 17, can become participants in the competition.

Applications for the competition will be accepted until mid-April. Grants will be awarded between June and September 2023. Participants are invited to submit a social project in one of the five proposed nominations:

– “Projects aimed at caring for animals”;

— “Projects aimed at socio-cultural and linguistic adaptation of minor foreign citizens and their parents (legal representatives)”;

– “Projects aimed at helping veterans of the Great Patriotic War, home front workers, elderly lonely people in need of attention and care”;

— “Projects aimed at helping orphans and children left without parental care, as well as children who have problems establishing friendly contacts with peers”;

– “Projects aimed at creating an effective system for the development of volunteering (volunteering) in educational organizations.”

According to Alexander Kudryashov, director of the Rosdetcenter, the competition has an important educational value for schoolchildren and students, because at an early age the guys understand that by becoming volunteers, they will be able not only to implement their projects, but also receive financial assistance for them from the state.

“Becoming participants in the contest “Kindness does not go on vacation,” many schoolchildren begin to participate in other volunteer projects,” said the director of the center.

As the writer Oleg Roy said, the competition “Kindness does not go on vacation” is the mechanism that teaches you to take care of your neighbors and those who need support and support.

We learn from children as we teach them. Often guys open our eyes to things that even I don’t understand. So who is more of a mentor: we for them or they for us? Their ideas sometimes simply amaze with their simplicity, genius and openness,” said Oleg Roy. “Thanks to the development of volunteer associations in educational organizations, schoolchildren acquire not only new theoretical knowledge, but also can implement projects in practice – often this is the first experience for them of how they can actually change the world around them for the better and see the real fruits of their labor.

Last year, about 9,500 people took part in the Good Doesn’t Go on Vacation contest. 64 projects received grants.
