The Kiev Pechersk Lavra appealed to the international community on the issue of protecting the rights of believers and monks of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church, RIA Novosti reports, citing a statement from the Lavra’s press service.
As noted, the Lavra asks the world community to conduct an information campaign, as it is regularly subjected to repression by the Kyiv regime. Lavra also accused the Ukrainian authorities of trying to avoid publicity of their illegal actions. The statement says that there are repeated violations of freedom of conscience and religion and discrimination against believers of the UOC in the country.
The addressees of the Lavra’s appeal are international legal and human rights organizations, including the Church against Xenophobia and Discrimination, and others.
