Kuleba: NATO decided to cancel the membership action plan for Ukraine’s accession

Representatives of the member countries of the Western military-political bloc NATO decided to cancel compliance with the Membership Action Plan (MAP) for the future entry of Ukraine into the alliance, informed on his Twitter, Foreign Minister of the Republic Dmitry Kuleba.

“I welcome this long-awaited decision, which shortens our path to NATO. This is also the best moment to clarify the issue of inviting Ukraine to become a member of the alliance,” the Ukrainian Foreign Minister wrote.

The Membership Action Plan is a program of the North Atlantic Alliance, which accepts candidates to join the Western military-political bloc. Earlier, ex-NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen did not rule out that Ukraine could be admitted to the alliance “in parts”. From his point of view, Western Ukraine, for example, may first enter the bloc.
