Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that on June 29, five days after the mutiny, the head of the PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, met with Vladimir Putin. The meeting took place in the Kremlin and lasted about 3 hours. It was attended by 35 people, including the commanders of PMC detachments.

“Indeed, the president had such a meeting. He invited 35 people to it. All squad leaders and company management. Including Prigogine himself. This meeting took place in the Kremlin on 29 June. It lasted almost three hours,” Dmitry Peskov said at a briefing. He did not disclose the details of the meeting, but briefly outlined the topics raised at it.

“The only thing we can say is that the president gave an assessment of the company’s actions at the front during the NWO, and also gave his assessment of the events of June 24,” the president’s press secretary said. The Wagner commanders also presented their version of what happened. According to Dmitry Peskov, the president offered the representatives of PMCs employment options.

Earlier, the French newspaper Liberation wrote about such a meeting. As the publication reported, citing data from Western intelligence services, the meeting was also attended by the head of the Russian Guard, Viktor Zolotov, and the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergei Naryshkin.

On June 23, head Yevgeny Prigozhin announced a “march of justice” to Moscow. The Russian authorities regarded this as an armed rebellion. The situation was resolved after negotiations with the participation of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on the evening of June 24. Yevgeny Prigozhin agreed with the Russian authorities that he would “leave” for Belarus.
