Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin said that there is a need to replace two spans of the Crimean bridge. He said this at a meeting of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin with deputy prime ministers.
“We are inspecting the railway track, we first see the need to replace two spans,” he said.
Khusnullin recalled that on the very first day, traffic was restored on one lane of freight and passenger trains. He noted that the repair work does not affect the delivery of goods and passengers. The vice-premier also said that by the end of the week the delivery of metal structures for the bridge is expected.
According to plans, the damaged supports will be restored by the end of the week. Analysis of the severity of damage continues, divers examine the bridge abutments. The need was identified to repair the damage to the expansion joint on one of the supports, this is also planned to be done by the end of the week.
