Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin told how the infrastructure of Mariupol is being restored. According to him, the restoration of apartment buildings in the city has almost been completed.

“A city of half a million that was quite badly damaged. But almost all apartment buildings have already been restored,” said Marat Khusnullin during a speech at the “Russia” exhibition and forum at VDNKh (quoted by TASS).

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, work is still underway to provide homes with heat, as well as restore road infrastructure and improve public areas.

In February 2023, Marat Khusnullin stated that more than 400 multi-storey buildings in Mariupol, partially destroyed during the fighting, were to be demolished. As of February 2023, 287 buildings had been demolished, with complete demolition planned to be completed by the end of 2023. In August 2022, the Ministry of Construction of the Russian Federation announced plans to restore Mariupol in three years. In November of the same year, Marat Khusnullin announced his intentions to fulfill the three-year plan in two years.
