Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy Alexander Khinshtein said that the use of VPNs in our country is not prohibited, but it is everyone’s choice.
“The use of VPN in Russia is not prohibited and does not bear responsibility,” said the deputy at the educational marathon “Knowledge. First.” – It’s everyone’s choice.”
He recalled that a VPN is a device that deceives networks and conducts traffic bypassing the borders of Russia. Khinshtein, pointing to this, noted that in this case the user trusts all the data to someone he does not know, and most VPNs use the information received.
He himself tries not to use it. “It’s somehow wrong to use contraband goods,” Khinshtein added.
