The amendments to the Labor Code on guarantees of the labor rights of participants in the military operation in Ukraine — volunteers and mobilized — announced earlier by United Russia, will be submitted to the State Duma by Tuesday. About it informed Alexander Khinshtein, head of the chamber’s information policy committee.
“I consider it right to prepare and amend the Labor Code to protect the rights of volunteers. So that when concluding a short-term contract with the military registration and enlistment office, the employee retains his former place. The leadership of the Ministry of Defense has already supported such a concept, ”Mr. Khinshtein wrote earlier in his Telegram channel.
The head of the Duma Committee on Labour, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, Yaroslav Nilov (LDPR), said that the State Duma could approve changes to the Labor Code of the Russian Federation in three readings at once. The next plenary session of the chamber is scheduled for September 27.
On the eve of the head of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko reportedthat, on behalf of the President, amendments to the legislation are being prepared to provide labor guarantees for the military. According to her, the current benefits for participants in the military operation in Ukraine, including medical and tax benefits, will be extended to those who fall under partial mobilization.
According to Art. 83 of the Labor Code, if an employee is called up for military service, the employment contract with him is subject to termination with the payment of two weeks’ earnings. However, as Kommersant was told in one of the state-owned companies, they plan to keep the jobs of the mobilized until they return, they can hire workers under fixed-term employment contracts in their places. The HR director of one of the Russian retailers said that another way to retain staff could be to re-register them in other departments, for example, in IT. Then even employees who meet the criteria for mobilization will be able to get a deferment.
