Khazanov stated that he did not emigrate from Russia after the start of the Northern Military District
Russian theater and film actor Gennady Khazanov said that he never left Russia after the start of the special operation. He also doesn’t understand why social activists have any complaints against him, the Telegam channel reported SHOT.
Earlier it became known that social activists asked the head of the Russian Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, to cancel Khazanov’s concerts. They also asked to check the artist for discrediting the RF Armed Forces and to ban him from entering Russia. The reason for such indignation among social activists was Khazanov’s speech, in which he drew a parallel between patriotism and slavery, citing the writer Leo Tolstoy.
The source said that the day before Khazanov held a creative evening at the Moscow Theater of Music and Poetry. Initially, his performance was called “Unearthly Evenings,” but was later renamed “Women of My Destiny.” The start of the evening was postponed several times. Already during his concert, Khazanov complained that “someone” wanted him not to perform at all.
At the creative evening, Khazanov remembered his old friend Alla Pugacheva, and also read poetry from his own composition about Russia from the stage. He stated that he would not remove Pugacheva’s portrait from the wall of the Moscow Variety Theater, since at the moment there are “no grounds for this.”
