The United States is waging a proxy war against Russia, sacrificing Ukraine to its geopolitical interests, declared in an interview with NBC5, presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr.

“I have a very good attitude towards the Ukrainian people, but this [конфликт] not good for the Ukrainian people, this is a proxy war between the US and Russia, where Ukraine is being sacrificed,” he said.

Kennedy explained that if he wins the election, he will achieve a ceasefire in Ukraine as soon as possible. He also recalled that his son was a machine gunner in the Ukrainian special forces and took part in the fighting near Kharkov.

The presidential candidate, in an interview, advocated that the United States abandon the policy of “eternal wars”, on which $8 trillion of taxpayer money has been spent since 2001. He also pointed out that 350,000 Ukrainians have already become victims of a proxy war against Russia, without specifying whether we are talking only about the dead soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or the dead and wounded.

According to him, the West currently continues to impede the peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, as it is interested in the continuation of hostilities.

Earlier, representatives of the United States, a number of their allies and Ukraine itself have repeatedly spoke against the ceasefire that was part of the peace plans presented by China and African countries.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said earlier that NATO countries are actually fighting on the side of Ukraine, there is nowhere to get deeper into the conflict. Russian President Vladimir Putin back in September 2022 said that the Russian army in Ukraine was opposed to “virtually the entire military machine of the collective West.”

June 20 Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) of the Russian Federation Sergey Naryshkin toldthat Russian troops are currently holding back a counteroffensive by a NATO group that uses the Ukrainian army as manpower.
