The Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan announced a ban on the transportation of goods from third countries to the republic after reloading or re-coupling in Belarus from October 9. About it reported press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Transport.
“From October 9, 2023, it is planned that a regulatory legal act will come into force, providing for a ban on the international transportation of goods from third countries to the Republic of Kazakhstan by “re-coupling/transshipment” of freight vehicles of the Republic of Belarus,” the department clarified.
President of Kazakhstan Zhomart Tokayev previously said that the republic is “forced to take into account sanctions restrictions,” although it is not “anti-Russia.”
Kazakhstan does not participate in parallel imports to Russia and does not have sanctioned goods, but trade in “traditional goods” between countries is growing and in 2022 the volume reached $25 billion, Tokayev explained.
