Kaspersky Lab will stop the operation of the Kaspersky Secure Connection VPN application in Russia.
Until the end of this year, the paid version of the application will still be sold, while the free version will stop working on November 15, according to the official blog of the company.
“The shutdown of the product in Russia will take place in stages to minimize inconvenience for current users,” the message says.
It is clarified that if you purchase and activate the paid version of the application before the end of 2022, it will work until the end of the license or current subscription.
The free version will be available until November 15, 2022, after which it will no longer be possible to use the free product in Russia.
The company emphasized that, apart from Russia, no other countries will be affected by changes in the operation of Kaspersky Secure Connection.
For users located outside the Russian Federation, “the set of available functions and VPN servers will not change,” the message says.
According to TASS, the company refused to comment on the reasons for the closure of the service.
