Kaspersky Lab is developing an application marketplace for its own OS

Under the operating system (OS) KasperskyOS, Kaspersky Lab is developing an application marketplace. It will be focused on corporate customers and industrial enterprises, Dmitry Lukiyan, head of the department of platform solutions based on KasperskyOS, told Vedomosti. The first version of the marketplace will be released in late 2023 or early 2024, he specified. Lukiyan estimated the amount of investment in the project for two years at approximately $1.5 million.

Any third-party software developers will be able to create applications for it, it follows from the words of Lukiyan. At first, it will be possible to develop applications based on Linux, but the applications themselves will only work on KasperskyOS, Lukiyan specified. In the future, developers will have to completely switch to KasperskyOS.
