Kashin: the United States could start training the Armed Forces of Ukraine even before the decision to supply Patriot air defense systems

The United States could begin training the Ukrainian army to operate Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM) even before the decision to supply them to Kyiv. This opinion was expressed by Vasily Kashin, director of the Center for Comprehensive European and International Studies at the National Research University Higher School of Economics.
He stressed that this made it very difficult to predict the timing of the start of the application of these systems. The expert suggested that Washington could already send those specialists who served on these complexes.
“These people could have already begun to be taught in advance, firstly, and secondly, they can be sent to help them from among the retired military who served on such systems,” Kashin said.
The specialist noted that in peacetime, the preparatory period for working with air defense systems “could take a year,” but at the moment “everything will be different.”
