Andrei Kartapolov, chairman of the Defense Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, said that Russia needs a law regulating the activities of private military companies, writes newspaper “Vedomosti”.
“We are working on it,” Kartapolov said.
According to him, the State Duma and its relevant committee are engaged in all areas of activity in the military sphere, and PMCs are one of its components.
Kartapolov also said that members of the PMC “Wagner” can continue to serve in the ranks of the Russian Armed Forces, and the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff should think about how to use the potential of these fighters “to the maximum.” As Kartapolov emphasized, “you can’t imagine a better gift for NATO and Ukrainians to take them and disarm them and disperse them.”
The deputy added: “It does not need to be done.”
