Karatekas from the Kaluga region brought 5 awards from the All-Russian competitions – one silver medal and 4 bronze. This was announced on Wednesday, January 31, by the regional Ministry of Sports.
They noted that silver was earned in the team competition, and bronze medals in the kata category were won by Andrey Denisov, Irina Churkina, Ilya Frantsuzov and Nikolai Petrov.
Let us recall that the 35th annual All-Russian and interregional karate competitions, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the complete lifting of the Siege of Leningrad, took place in St. Petersburg. They gathered 1,100 participants from 31 regions of Russia.
“Congratulations to our athletes and their coaches on their successful performances! We wish you new victories,” the department noted.
