The head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov announced that the Russian Special Forces University in Gudermes will be named after Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to Ramzan Kadyrov, the decision was made from the moment the university was founded, but the institution needed to “justify the purpose of its creation.”

“Considering that Vladimir Vladimirovich raised Russia from its knees and became the guarantor of the Constitution, the greatness and independence of the homeland, for us there was no more worthy person in whose honor this institution could be named. Therefore, I officially declare that from now on the Russian Special Forces University will bear the name of the wisest, far-sighted and talented leader of our time – Vladimir Putin!” – Mr. Kadyrov wrote in his Telegram channel.

The head of Chechnya said that the reason for making such a decision was the visit of Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev. Ramzan Kadyrov emphasized that the university has become an all-Russian gathering center and a place with the best military training.
