On February 20, Vladimir Makeranets, a famous Soviet and Russian director, screenwriter, producer and cameraman, died.
Makeranets was born in 1947 in Sverdlovsk. He was the chairman of the city organization of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation and the president of the Guild of Operators of the Urals, as well as an Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.
Information about the death of the 76-year-old director was confirmed by the regional organization of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia. The cause of death has not been announced.
Makeranets began working at the Sverdlovsk film studio at the age of sixteen. He graduated from the cinematography department of VGIK and was the winner of many prestigious awards, including the Moscow Film Festival.
Among his projects are the films “The Golden Snake”, “Children Running from a Thunderstorm”, “In the Surf Line”, “Hello, Baby!”, “Everyday Life and Holidays of Serafima Glyukina”, “Semyon Dezhnev”, “To Those Who Remain to Live” ” and many others.
