Kadyrov called on officials to pay the debts of Chechens in stores – Kommersant

The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, speaking at an extended meeting on issues of socio-economic development of the region, called on officials to pay the debts of residents of the republic in stores.

According to Ramzan Kadyrov, his daughter Khadizhat, who holds the position of deputy head of the administration of the head and government of the republic, told him about the financial problems of the residents of Chechnya.

“I received an SMS from Khadijat that many people, due to lack of financial opportunity, are forced to buy goods on credit. It would be nice to help them close them. It will be good if everyone takes over the plot and pays off the debts. I will pay off the debts that exist in the area in which I live,” said Ramzan Kadyrov, speaking in Chechen (quoted from "RIA News").

RIA Novosti notes that in Chechnya, it is a common practice for goods to be purchased “on a notebook basis,” that is, they are borrowed. As a rule, this is acceptable in small neighborhood stores where everyone knows each other and the level of trust is high.
