Federal Court of Appeal of the Italian Football Federation deprived Juventus 10 points in the football championship for financial violations. Thus, the court, after reviewing the decision, reduced the punishment by 5 points. In addition, seven functionaries of the football club were acquitted.
After the court decision, Juventus dropped from second to seventh place in the Italian championship standings. He now has 59 points. Against the backdrop of the decision, he also lost to the Empoli club with a score of 1:4.
The Italian Football Federation’s appeals court reopened the fraud case in January. Juventus were initially denied 15 points in the league. The former management of the club was suspended from football for various periods. The Committee of Sports Guarantors of the National Olympic Committee of Italy in April granted the appeal of Juventus and demanded that the Federal Court of Appeal of the Italian Football Federation review the punishment. At this time, the sanctions against the club were lifted. As a result, the punishment for the club was reduced, and former vice-president Pavel Nedved and other functionaries were acquitted.
