Journalist Lisa Lazerson announced that she is leaving the Living Nail YouTube channel, created by former employees of the closed radio station Ekho Moskvy. Previously, the presenter was removed from the air due to an anti-Semitic joke.

On October 21, a journalist streamed in support of “Living Nail” told an anecdote about the difference between a carriage with concrete and a “car with small dead Jewish babies.” According to Lisa Lazerson, with the help of this “old Soviet joke” she wanted to show an example of the presence of anti-Semitism in the USSR.

Today, October 23, the head of “Living Nail”, ex-chief editor of “Echo of Moscow” Alexey Venediktov (included in the register of foreign agents) announced on his Telegram channel that Ms. Lazerson has been suspended from airing on “Living Nail” for two months.

The journalist considered this decision unfair and statedthat he is not going to return to work on the YouTube channel after the expiration of the suspension.

“The anecdote was really terrible, but it sounded at the beginning of a six-hour broadcast to collect donations, in the presence of Alexey Venediktov, who later said that he had problems with communication at that moment. Now I understand why in the Soviet Union people were imprisoned for telling jokes,” said Lisa Lazerson. According to her, she was asked to tell an anecdote by one of the chat participants who sent a donation.
