London “Chelsea” agreed with Madrid “Atletico” about the transition of the striker of the Portuguese national team Juan Felix (in red-green form) on loan until the end of the season. According to several sources, the English club will pay €11 million for it, and will also fully cover the player’s salary for this period in the amount of about €6 million. At the same time, the buyout option in this agreement, according to the conditions put forward by Atlético, is not spelled out. Moreover, it is reported that João Felix’s contract with Atlético Madrid, which was once concluded for seven years until 2026, should be extended until 2027.

Recall that the transition of a talented striker from Benfica to Atlético Madrid in 2019 for €126 million is one of the four most expensive transfers in football history. He is second only to the transfers of two current PSG stars – Neymar from Barcelona in 2017 for € 222 million and Kylian Mbappe from Monaco in 2018 for € 135 million, as well as the transfer of Felipe Coutinho in 2018 from Liverpool to ” Barcelona” for €145 million. True, Juan Felix has not yet been able to fully demonstrate his abilities in Madrid. In particular, in 14 matches of the current championship of Spain, he scored only four goals and made three assists.

Chelsea, in turn, is interested in strengthening. At the moment, the team, led by Graham Potter, is only tenth in the English Premier League. It is not surprising that, according to the British press, in a dispute in absentia for the right to rent Juan Felix, Chelsea was ahead of Arsenal and Manchester United, who found the conditions of Atlético unfavorable.
