The Kyodo news agency announced the decision of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida to invite President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to take part in the meeting of the leaders of the G7 countries, which will be held online on February 24.
According to the agency, Kishida announced the decision of the government at a meeting of the leadership of the Liberal Democratic Party.
In turn, the Ukrainian side has already announced earlier its desire to send President Zelensky to a meeting of G7 leaders.
It is also reported that at the upcoming meeting it is planned to coordinate the positions of the participants on the issues of maintaining sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation and continuing to provide assistance to Kyiv.
