Japanese Ministry of Defense: North Korean ballistic missiles flew 350 and 650 km

The Japanese Ministry of Defense announced the launch of two ballistic missiles from North Korea into the Sea of Japan. According to the data, the missiles flew approximately 350 and 650 kilometers, respectively. Both shells fell outside Japan’s exclusive economic zone. Japanese authorities are conducting data analysis to confirm this information, especially in light of the possibility of changing the missiles’ flight path.
The Japanese Coast Guard earlier reported the launch of two suspected ballistic missiles and urged ships in the region to avoid the wreckage and immediately contact authorities if any were found. There is currently no information about any damage caused by the missile launch from Pyongyang.
Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno said at a press conference in Tokyo that Japan has expressed strong protest to the DPRK through its embassy in Beijing over the incident.
North Korea has conducted about 20 missile launches since the beginning of the year. Currently, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is in Russia, where he arrived on a special train.
