Putin and Kim Jong-un met at the Vostochny cosmodrome

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un arrived at the Vostochny cosmodrome. His armored train arrived at the railway station of the cosmodrome, after which Vladimir Putin met him at Vostochny.

The President of Russia and the leader of North Korea will hold talks at Vostochny. They will also be attended by the head of Roscosmos, Yuri Borisov, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern District, Yuri Trutnev, who were waiting for the president at the cosmodrome.

Kim Jong-un arrived in Russia on September 12. At the Khasan station in the Primorsky Territory, he was met by Russian officials, including the head of the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources, Alexander Kozlov, and the Governor of the Primorsky Territory, Oleg Kozhemyako. After the welcoming ceremony took place negotiations between the North Korean leader and Minister Kozlov.

Leader of the DPRK thanked the Russian side for the warm welcome and conveyed my best wishes to Putin, the government, the army and the people of Russia. He called his visit to Russia a demonstration of the importance of the strategic relationship with Moscow, noting that it was his first foreign visit “since the global social health crisis.” The previous time he came to the Russian Federation was in April 2019.

As part of the full-scale visit, negotiations between the two delegations will take place, after which, if necessary, the leaders will continue their communication in a one-on-one format.
