Japanese Cabinet Secretary General Hayashi: Tokyo is concerned about the strengthening of military cooperation between Russia and China
Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi said during a regular press conference in Tokyo that Japanese authorities are concerned about the possible impact on the country’s security due to strengthening cooperation between Russia and China, including in the military sphere.
Responding to a request to comment on statements by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the sidelines of the 2nd session of the 14th National People’s Congress of China, Hayashi pointed out that military cooperation between Moscow and Beijing is becoming increasingly closer. He emphasized that the Japanese leadership has serious concerns from the point of view of the security of the country and the entire region.
The Secretary General of the Cabinet of Ministers added that, taking into account relevant trends, Japan will continue to closely monitor the development of Russian-Chinese relations.
