Izvestia: Russia proposes to ban electric scooters on pedestrian streets

“News”citing an appeal from a member of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Utilities, Alexander Yakubovsky, reported that Russia had proposed banning electric scooters on pedestrian streets.
It is specified that Yakubovsky sent a corresponding proposal to the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. Among other things, the deputy proposed limiting the speed of rolling electric scooters to 15 kilometers per hour.
“I propose to ban the use of electric scooters for people under 18 years old, and also ban them from riding on pedestrian streets,” Yakubovsky said.
According to him, similar measures should be introduced in relation to electric bicycles.
