Avangard lost in the first match of the tournament in memory of Blinov on August 20 to Lokomotiv 1:5. Ivan Igumnov, the author of the hawks’ only goal, commented on the meeting to the media.

According to Ivan, the first period was bad, and then the game improved.

– In a situation where the stands are perfectly filled, and the team is on fire 0:3 in the first period – what were your feelings?

– Of course, it’s unpleasant. But we must be ready for anything. And do not succumb to negative emotions, do not play worse from this. Every hockey player should think about the game in the first place, and not about stress and anxiety. And how to fix the situation.

– The fact that you played the last match before that on August 8, and the opponent – on the 14th – influenced?

– Yes, it did. It was clear that the first period we failed completely, were not ready. Then they corrected the situation, but still scored only one goal. The second period played well, there were mistakes, but there were also many positives.

– What do you remember about your goal?

– It turned out a good puck. Partners successfully took over it. And Ivan then gave it to me well for a “patch”. In fact, it was a matter of technology.

– Can we say that you have formed a link with Panyukov? You’ve been playing together for a long time now.

– Yes, but we also have guys who are not playing yet. So the link may change.

– In the last 4-5 minutes, Avangard had a huge advantage, a lot of shots, but either it flew into the goalkeeper or into the post, the puck still didn’t go into the goal. What is the reason? Did the goalkeeper beat so well?

– This should be analyzed later, when we watch the video, we will analyze the errors. Let’s make it clear what we did wrong. But the fact that Bocharov played excellently at the opponent’s goal – of course. Agree.

Earlier we gave an opinion about the match of the head coach of Omsk Mikhail Kravets.
