Russians will be able to submit and withdraw consent to the processing of biometric personal data through the Gosuslugi portal. Information about the existence of such consents can also be found there. According to TASS with reference to the press service of the government, the resolutions on this have already been signed.
“The use of biometrics is voluntary and the surrender of such personal data is carried out only at the request of a citizen. The absence or presence of biometrics in the system does not affect the accessibility of public services and services to citizens,” the message says.

Since mid-August, messages have been circulating on the network that the collection of biometric data will become mandatory from September 1, 2023. Allegedly, if the refusal is not written before August 31, then from the next day the data will automatically appear in the database.
