The US is considering Israeli requests for additional military assistance, reported American Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
“We are considering specific additional requests that the Israelis have made. I think you’ll probably hear more about this later today,” Blinken said on CNN.
On the morning of October 7, the armed Palestinian group Hamas began firing rockets at Israel. As a result of the hostilities, according to official data, more than 600 Israelis were killed and over 2,000 were injured. On the Palestinian side, over 200 residents were killed and about 1,700 were injured.
Mass abductions of Israelis and guests of the country were reported by the group. IDF spokesman Lt. Col. Richard Hecht told CNN that there could be “dozens” of hostages in Gaza. Police spokesman Dean Elsdann reportedthat Israel is opening a missing persons control center.
Israel responded by launching Operation Iron Swords. Today it became known that Israel has officially declared that the country has entered a state of war. The IDF on the morning of October 8 announced the evacuation of all residents on the border with Gaza to a depth of at least 4 km within 24 hours before the start of a ground military operation there.
