The Israeli Ministry of Defense announced the first successful use of the Hetz 3 missile defense system in combat conditions, RIA Novosti reports, citing official statement departments.
“On November 9, the Hetz 3 missile defense system was successfully deployed in combat for the first time,” the statement said.
It is also noted that the system successfully intercepted a target aimed at Israel in the Red Sea area.
Earlier, on November 5, the British newspaper The Telegraph reported that Israel’s strike on a ballistic missile launched by the Houthis from Yemen towards Eilat on October 30 may have become the first battle in space in human history. It was also noted that this was the first time the Israeli-American Arrow missile defense system was used to eliminate ballistic missiles at high altitude and high speed.
