The Islamic State group, recognized as a terrorist group in Russia and banned, announced the murder of its leader Abu al-Hussein al-Husseini al-Kurashi.
According to France Press, the group said that Abu al-Hussein was killed during a clash with militants of another terrorist organization, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, banned in Russia, in the province of Idlib.
Abu Hafsan al-Hashimi al-Kurashi has been announced as the new leader of the group.
At the same time, Turkish President Recep Taip Erdogan previously stated that the country’s National Intelligence Service (MİT) eliminated al-Hussein during an operation in Syria at the end of April.
It is known from open sources that Abu al-Hussein al-Husseini joined ISIS in 2013 and led the group after the death of the previous leader, Abu al-Hassan.
