Irina Raber, vice-president of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR), has died at the age of 72, the press service of the FFKKR said. Ms. Raber served as Deputy Prime Minister of the Federation for 16 years.

Director General of the FFKKR Alexander Kogan told TASS that the cause of death of Ms. Raber was a long illness. “A man has left who did a lot for figure skating in the country, in Moscow, built several skating rinks, gave thousands of children the opportunity to practice and achieve high results for the national team. We regret this huge loss,” he added.
According to information on the FFKKR website, Irina Raber was born in September 1949. She headed the Moscow Figure Skating Federation from 2005 to 2022. In 2006, she was appointed to the position of Vice-President of the FFKKR, headed the ethics commission.
