At least 200 people have died in Iran during the latest protests, the country’s Interior Ministry said in a statement.
“As a result of the riots, 200 people have died to date,” the Tasnim news agency quoted the agency as saying.
This number includes dead security personnel, innocent civilians killed as a result of the elimination of armed groups, victims of terrorist attacks, rioters and members of separatist groups.
The ministry also said that the protests caused damage to public and private organizations in “thousands of billions of Iranian fogs” (1 trillion fogs is equal to about $200 million).
Recall that protests broke out in September after the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini. The girl was detained by the police because of the wrong wearing of a headscarf, shortly after that she died of a heart attack. The media and human rights activists claimed that the police tortured her.
