Iranian Ambassador Kazem Jalali called Putin’s statement about respect for the Koran in Russia a noble act

Iranian Ambassador to the Russian Federation Kazem Jalali at a press conference in the media group “Russia Today” in connection with the Days of Iranian Culture in Russia on July 4-9, called the statement of Russian President Vladimir Putin on respect for the Koran in the country “a noble act.”

According to the ambassador, the fact that the Russian leader in Derbent accepted the Koran as a gift, saying that in Russia they respect the divine books, including the Koran, is a noble act on the part of the head of state. He pointed out that this represents respect for the followers of Islam in Russia, for compatriots and Muslims around the world.

He added that Western European states and the United States are seeking to introduce a false agenda in the religious sphere. As Kazem Jalali noted, in the West they are convinced that “everything is possible”, that religious rules mean nothing, and human emotions and desires are above all. At the same time, the ambassador noted that Vladimir Putin, in turn, accepting the Koran as a gift, clearly said that disrespect for the sacred scriptures in Russia is “unacceptable and criminal.”
