The Moscow City Court also approved the decision of the Tver Court to extend the arrest of Kirill Sukhanov, as well as the former editor-in-chief of Tatler magazine Arian Romanovsky (Kuzmin) and journalist Tamerlan Bigaev. They will remain in the pre-trial detention center until June 24.
“Yesterday, the last procedural actions were carried out, we were notified of the end of the preliminary investigation,” said lawyer Kirill Sukhanov (quoted from “Izvestia”).
Kirill Sukhanov, Arian Romanovsky and Tamerlan Bigaev are charged under paragraph “b” of Part 3 of Art. 163 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (extortion in order to obtain property on an especially large scale). According to investigators, they demanded 11 million rubles from Sergei Chemezov. for deleting posts discrediting him in the Telegram channel “Extinguish the Light”.
They have been in jail since the end of October 2022. March 1 Tverskoy Court extended their arrest until 24 June. At the same meeting, their lawyer Dmitry Malyutov said that his clients were finally charged in the case.
