The Board of Directors of the International Boxing Association (IBA) voted to cancel the prohibition of boxers from Russia and Belarus to compete. The organization stressed that it wants to remain politically neutral and independent, and also called for the peaceful resolution of conflicts.

“The IBA firmly believes that politics should not have any impact on the sport. Therefore, all athletes should be given equal conditions, ”says the press release associations. The President of the International Boxing Association is the Russian boxer Umar Kremlev.

After the start of the military operation in Ukraine, the International Olympic Committee recommended that sports organizations around the world remove Russian athletes from participation in competitions. In March, the International Boxing Association followed these recommendations.

Next association competitions will pass in the city of Budva in Montenegro: from October 14 to October 22, the European Women’s Boxing Championship will be held.
