But he never remembered the moment of the crime
New details have emerged about the high-profile murder under the Novoarbatsky Bridge, opposite the Government House of the Russian Federation, where businessman Mikhail Kotov was shot a year ago, and today the criminal heard his verdict. In fact, the execution took place in front of a traffic police officer, but the accused himself stated that he did not remember the moment of the massacre.
As MK previously reported, Lema Ibragimov invested money in various projects – in particular, he invested about 50 million rubles in the supply of goods from China, the total amount is about 50 million. Moreover, in order to invest in the business, the entrepreneur pawned his car. But in the end, Ibragimov was left with nothing: his partner Kotov said that it was not possible to implement the projects. At this point, communication between businessmen stopped – Kotov did not even plan to sort things out with Ibragimov (at least, that’s what his wife later claimed), and the latter believed that Kotov now owed him about 50 million rubles.
The fateful meeting took place on September 7 last year – Lema was driving around Moscow, saw his former partner’s Mercedes in traffic, asked him to stop and moved into Kotov’s Mercedes. According to Ibragimov, they quarreled, at some point the driver spoke disapprovingly of his children, after which something seemed to go wrong in Lema’s head. He shot Kotov with a gas pistol adapted to fire live ammunition. The car at that moment was under the Novoarbatsky Bridge. The Mercedes lost control and began to move chaotically along the road, and then stopped. This was noticed by a traffic police officer on duty at the post. He approached the car and asked what was the matter, to which Ibragimov explained that the driver felt ill, call an ambulance. While the traffic inspector called the doctors, the businessman returned to the car, where he shot Kotov several more times.
During the investigation, Ibragimov was extremely reluctant to talk about what happened. He claimed that he had lost his mind and could not remember how the events unfolded inside the car. The man initially wanted his case to be tried by a jury, but at the last moment he refused the services of lay judges. According to the senior assistant to the head of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for Moscow, Yulia Ivanova, by the verdict of the Dorogomilovsky District Court of Moscow, Ibragimov was sentenced to 13 years in a high-security correctional colony.
